HubX Becomes Türkiye’s First App Studio Unicorn

Izmir-based technology company HubX has become Türkiye's first app studio unicorn after raising up to USD 75 million in its first external funding round from Point72 Private Investments at a pre-money valuation of USD 1.2 billion.

Founded in Izmir in 2022, HubX has built a profitable portfolio of more than 40 consumer products without relying on external funding. Its mobile and web applications have reached more than 600 million users across over 190 countries. The company currently has a team of more than 370 employees across its offices in Izmir and Istanbul.

A large part of HubX's portfolio consists of applications focused on generative AI, photography and video, education, and wellness. Its products include Nova, Wiser, DaVinci, and Lotus Flow, with several of its applications ranking among the most downloaded products in their respective categories across various markets.

The new investment will be used to accelerate the growth of existing products and expand HubX's global mergers and acquisitions activities. The company plans to step up its efforts to acquire promising mobile and web products, bringing applications with strong user experience and the teams behind them into the HubX ecosystem.

HubX Co-Founder Cem Ortabaş said the company has developed significant expertise in taking products from the idea stage to hundreds of millions of users worldwide. “This investment allows us to take the experience we have gained over the years one step further. While continuing to develop strong products in-house, we want to partner with successful teams that create products users love and bring them into HubX," he said.

Point72 Private Investments Partner Ishan Sinha said HubX stands out for its ability to identify consumer demand and rapidly scale products that respond to that demand. He noted that the strength of the company's application portfolio and the repeatability of its model were key factors behind the investment.

HubX Co-Founder Kaan Ortabaş emphasized that reaching this scale within four years while maintaining profitability has strengthened the company's confidence in its business model. He said the partnership would enable HubX to pursue its ambitions on a significantly larger global scale.

With HubX's rise to unicorn status, the number of Turcorns, Türkiye's homegrown unicorns, has now reached eight. The country's unicorn ecosystem also includes Trendyol, Getir, Peak Games, Hepsiburada, Dream Games, Insider, and Loom Games. Loom Games reached unicorn status in 2026 following its majority acquisition by Scopely at a valuation of more than USD 1 billion.
