Trouw Nutrition has broken ground on a next-generation production facility in Ankara, marking a major step forward in its global sustainability strategy while further cementing Türkiye's position as a strategic hub for international investors and advanced manufacturing.
The facility, located in the Ankara Polatlı Organized Industrial Zone, is scheduled to become operational in the first half of 2027.
Combining advanced engineering with a strong focus on sustainability, the facility is set to play a pivotal role in strengthening Türkiye's position in feed additive manufacturing across the wider region. Once fully operational, the investment is expected to significantly increase the company's output in Türkiye, unlocking a new scale of production.
Powered by renewable energy, including on-site solar generation, and supported by advanced energy recovery systems, the plant will operate using a highly efficient and environmentally responsible model. The integration of cutting-edge automation and digital technologies is expected to significantly enhance production capacity, operational efficiency, and product quality.
Beyond its technological capabilities, the investment underscores Türkiye's growing role in global value chains. With its robust logistics infrastructure, Customs Union with the EU, and proximity to multiple high-growth markets, Türkiye provides efficient access to markets across Europe, Asia, and beyond. In this context, the new facility is expected to serve a broad geography spanning Central Asia and the Caucasus, in addition to the domestic market.
Providing insight into the investment decision, Trouw Nutrition Türkiye Country Manager Gonca Altıntaş highlighted the strategic advantages of the Ankara Polatlı Organized Industrial Zone, noting that the location enables efficient and sustainable distribution both within Türkiye and across neighboring regions. Altıntaş emphasized that the plant's fully automated structure will ensure greater consistency in production while maximizing operational efficiency.
Altıntaş also noted that Türkiye's skilled workforce, resilient supply chains, and investor-friendly ecosystem were key drivers behind the investment. The project aligns with the company's long-term vision of advancing sustainability across the global food value chain.
As one of the first zero-emission production facilities of its kind in the sector, the investment is set to support Türkiye's green transformation while reinforcing its appeal for high-value, future-oriented investments, further strengthening its position as the nexus of the world.
